A Personal Confession…
I’m not just writing sterile words here on a clean page. I have earned my conclusions and observations. But even after all this; I’ve scolded myself by cloning certain behaviors and I’ve auditioned the same roles over again only to be left stunned until the final blunt force lessons reawakened me with a polarizing whack. I know what it is to be scared straight by the organized madness of seemingly synchronized but all too often ritualized relationship pain.
As time passes, I have noticed that while history does not change and my memories stay the same, it is my conclusions about the lessons of the past that do change. I see things differently now than I once did, and I expect that in years from now the narration of my story will continue to have alternate endings. New experiences have a way with mingling with the old so that the showpiece of one’s life is no longer experiences, but what we decide to learn from those experiences. Sometimes it feels like chaos comes in alphabetical order until a rhythm reveals itself and I evolve my way towards destination Z, if there be such a place.
So I’m openly saying that the contents of this book have come from my own mistakes. I’m actually saying that it is because I have screwed up so much in terms of my own choices and misreading women that I have been endowed with knowledge that now allows me to see the light.
